Can Happiness be taught? An INSET day with Old School Palace

Laughology
Can happiness be taught and learnt?

Can happiness be taught and learnt? The simple answer is yes, and Laughology’s research into happiness, delivered by our very own Head of Happiness, Stephanie Davies, helped Old School Palace teaching and support teams explore what can be done to help children and adults develop Skills for Happiness

The day included ways to build more resilience, have positive relationships and support wellbeing. It also explored Laughology’s Happiness Matrix and FLIP toolkit. Research shows that happiness plays a vital role in the motivation and well-being of school children.

Happiness in children has often been linked to other benefits such as better health, better learning, higher emotional literacy and good behaviour. On the contrary, a lack of happiness can be detrimental to their thinking skills, creativity, intelligence, academic performance and personality growth.

And it’s not just the children that happiness benefits; it’s the teachers, wider school community and support teams and parents too. The day was full of practical techniques to apply in the classroom, supported by the Happy Centred School Resources. To book your INSET, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
