DON'T SWEAT IT

Helping children and young people develop coping skills for stressful situations, including exams.

The length and content of workshops can be adapted for children and young people in all Key Stages

Let’s face it, exams are important. We want children and young people to do their best - and your school to be nearer the top of the league table when the results are published.

Win-win.

But, no matter how much you try to reduce the amount of stress and exam anxiety, the bead of sweat on your top lip gives the game away – and who knows what their parents might have said?

For children, the pressure can be confusing and upsetting. Especially as their ability to manage these emotions is not yet properly developed.

So, assuming they’ve learnt all the stuff they need to know, the biggest thing that will help them be successful is to feel confident and have a toolkit of coping skills if they have a wobble.

And that’s where our Don’t Sweat It session comes in! One of our brilliant facilitators will help your children develop the skills they need in a fun and interactive way.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • A bit of neuroscience around brain farts, why our memory goes and how to get it back
  • Understanding what happens to our bodies in stressful situations
  • Kind ways to challenge and support others, if they’re struggling
  • A toolkit of coping skills to feel more confident – we love a power pose!
  • Cool ways to swot up and get stuff to stay in your head

What you’ll get by the end

  • Children who love ‘a quiz’, are more confident to have a go and take a risk
  • Better results and improved school performance
  • Fewer tears and soggy exam papers
  • Ways to plan for exams and feel in control
Victoria was very good, lovely and energetic and the children loved it. The children now feel ready for their SATs.
