FLIP-IT - Keep Calm and Carry On!

Helping pupils tackle change, build resilience and feel more positive

The length and content of workshops can be adapted for children and young people in all Key Stages

How confident are your class when facing a challenge? Beyoncé headlining Glastonbury or a BGT hopeful facing Simon Cowell?

Yup, we hear you.

Resilience is an important life skill. It helps us cope when life gets tough, no matter our age. For children, it may be tackling algebra for the first time or starting a new school. Whatever it is, one thing’s for sure - it only gets easier with practice.

At Laughology, we believe teaching children simple coping skills and strategies will help them navigate the tricky times ahead.

And that’s where our Keep Calm and Carry On workshop comes in, giving your class simple tools and techniques to manage changes and challenges coming their way using our FLIP-it Thinking model.

Here’s what you can expect

  • A session full of energy, laughter and practical techniques - pupils won’t even know they’re learning, it’s that much fun
  • Easily memorable skills your class can use whenever they face a challenge - long division in a maths test? Bring it on
  • New levels of confidence and self-belief - helping them believe they can achieve success, both inside and outside the classroom
  • Reduced levels of stress and anxiety, so they feel happier and mentally healthier as they move onto secondary school

What you’ll get by the end

  • Children who are prepared for any challenges they face, with skills and techniques they can use to shift their mindset and tackle any obstacles that come along
  • Confident learners, who aren’t afraid of making mistakes or trying new things
  • Children who can manage change and uncertainty with a resilience
  • Knowledge that you’ve given your pupils a set of life skills they can take into adulthood - FLIP is the gift that keeps on giving

Some of the parents have stated that their children loved the sessions and were talking about them 'non-stop.' The teachers were very enthusiastic about the workshops.

Some have mentioned an instant change in how their class behave and that they got a lot out of it.

We hope to reinforce FLIP throughout the school with posters, classroom displays and follow up work.
